Because of the requirements of HOTMAC's flying site owner, all membership levels except the Introductory Pilot Program must have membership in the AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics). Your AMA Membership has many benefits, including a monthly magazine and additional insurance. Check out the many benefits and AMA membership is available HERE.
Fly legally within FAA rules
All RC pilots at HOTMAC are legally required to obtain an FAA Recreational User Registration Number for their aircraft under "The Exception for Recreational Users". A small fee covers multiple years. One registration number is for multiple aircraft. Details on how to register, label your aircraft and fly legally and safely can be found HERE.
All RC pilots at HOTMAC are legally required to complete "The Recreational UAS Safety Test" (TRUST). There is no cost to take the Test and a certificate is available upon completion. Details of test and completion instructions can be found HERE.
If the situation should ever arise, upon a request rom law enforcement, you are required to produce both your recreational user number and your TRUST certificate.
